Cerundolo defeated his first opponent from the Top 10

World No. 39, Francisco Cerundolo, beat No. 5 and Bastad defending champion, Casper Ruud 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to reach the QFs of Swedish Open.

For the 23-year-old Argentinean, this is the first victory in his career over an opponent from the top 10. Now his balance against Top-10 has become 1:3.

Casper Ruud failed to defend his title in Sweden. Next week he will play in Gstaad, where he will also have a mission to defend the title.
